In Nov 2025, Saxon Sports Frankston was taken over by a group of friends with cricket backgrounds and recent experience coaching juniors, including at two nearby clubs.

They are on a mission to re-establish Saxon's identify as the heart and soul of cricket in Frankston and the Peninsula.

Expect changes over the coming months and years, including:

• Longer opening hours for bowling machines,
• Greater access to coaches
• Easier booking access (including anticipating the wet-weather rush)
• A refresh and upgrade of the facilities

Currently we offer:

• A referral service for our resident coaches, including Keith Jansz and Peter Buchanan
• Ten dedicated cricket lanes
• Two dedicated full-length run-up lanes
• Specialized Spin/BOLA Ball machine lanes, including self-feeders
• Indoor cricket nets, facilitating uninterrupted practice sessions
• A comfortable and spacious spectator area, ensuring an enjoyable viewing experience for all
• A well-stocked cricket and sports gear shop, catering to your equipment requirements
• A licensed bar (with Kayo), where you can unwind and socialise after an intense training session
• Ample on-site parking facilities, providing convenience and accessibility for all visitors
• School holiday cricket programs
• Easy access to Cricket World Australia which is in the same building (check their site for operating hours)

In the first few weeks since taking over, the new owners have received many questions about whether indoor cricket will return. The answer is yes!

The plan is to run competitions on Wed - Fri evenings from April - July 2026 for all ages and abilities. Stay tuned for more details around February 2026 or send us an EOI.
